The 5-channel Rane SL4 for Serato Scratch Live is the latest in the
series of SL Serato boxes. It has been designed to be the ultimate high-end standalone DJ interface. The SL4 is the
first external audio interface to offer two high-speed USB 2.0 ports, 96 kHz sample rate, 24-bit digital audio
processing and galvanic isolation.
The SL4 has inputs for four turntables or CD decks, switchable in any combination. There is also an Aux input
for session recording or LiveFeed.
The two USB 2.0 ports enable two computers to be connected to the SL4 at the same time. This allows for seamless
DJ changeover or team DJing.
The SL4 is a 10-in / 10-out soundcard that can be used with any software supporting ASIO or Core Audio. Teamed
with the low-latency Core / ASIO drivers, the SL4 can also be used as a studio production tool with many
third-party software applications.
Built-in galvanic isolation eliminates computer noise and interference.
Sample rate is switchable from 96 kHz to 48 kHz via a switch at the rear of the unit.
The SL4 is bus-powered, either by USB or the external power supply.
The Rane SL4 is only sold as part of a complete DVS package with Serato
Scratch Live software, cables, power supply and timecode control disks.
The minimum computer requirements to run Scratch Live with the SL4 are as follows:
PC: USB 2.0 port, 2.2 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP with SP3, Vista with SP2 or Windows 7
(recommended).
Mac: USB 2.0 port, 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB RAM, OSX 10.5.8 or higher.
The SL4 audio interface measures 18.4 x 12.6 x 4.3 cm and weighs 3 kg. It will be available from April 2011.
